Home Health Aide Makes Masks for Colleagues

Lilian is originally from Ghana, where she grew up with four sisters and 3 brothers.  She came to America to find a better life for her and her son.  She has been a caregiver with Life Force for a little over two years, even though we feel like we have had her for a lot longer.

Growing up with 7 siblings, Lilian learned to cook at a very young age.  One of her favorite things to cook is rice.  Lilian's current client loves her cooking and eats everything she makes.  She also learned how to sew and has been a seamstress since she was 16 years old.

Before coming to work for Life Force, Lilian was a seamstress and worked in a hotel in New Orleans, LA.  She would give the tips she made at the hotel to the homeless that she passed on her way from work.  Lilian has a huge heart.

That huge heart of hers has recently played a big role in the pandemic that our Life Force Family has been struggling through.  Lilian contacted us a few weeks ago and had offered to hand make all of our caregivers protective masks.  She never once flinched when we told her how many we would need.  She ordered the supplies and had the masks completed within a couple weeks.  She would not take a dime for us for supplies or her time.  She told us she "just wants to help people and help her fellow caregivers."

We are so incredibly grateful for Lilian and her kindness, as we have struggled to get supplies during this pandemic.  As Lilian said herself "I am happy to do it.  I want to help people in any way that I can.  I wish there was more that I could do, but I do the little things that I can."

Lilian, we couldn't be happier to have you as part of the Life Force Family.  Not only are you an amazing caregiver, but your giant heart and your kindness shines through even the darkest cloud.
